You Cant Use Your ‘Lagos Team’ To Fix Nigeria; Tinubu’s Ardent Supporter Says In Video

An ardent supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Barrister Jesutega Onopkasa has cautioned the President against continued appointment of his former appointees in Lagos state into federal government positions.

Onopkasa argued that while it was natural for him to have engaged Lagos-based professionals and appointees to fix Lagos when he served as the governor between 1999 and 2007, it is “incongruous” to assume that he can “mobilise the Lagos team to fix Nigeria.”

NPO Reports could not immediately ascertain where the video was recorded. It was however shared on X by a critic of the present government and human rights crusader, Chidi Odikanlu.

Odinkanlu, while sharing the video on Friday, said “Even @officialABAT ‘s most committed defenders are beginning to see the light all of a sudden….”

“What you did in Lagos, you mobilised Lagosians to Fix Lagos, which was to be expected. However, you cannot mobilise Lagosians to fix Nigeria. You will have to mobilise Nigerians to fix Nigeria.

“So, you cannot form a core of a team that is basically Lagos-based to fix Nigeria. It is mathematically incongruous. It is an incongruity.,” Onokpasa said

He added that members of the “Lagos ” that Tinubu brought to Abuja are not helping the President to achieve his set goals adding that most of them are “useless.”

“You will have to dismantle this team, with due respect and rebuild a true Nigerian core. Your core team must no longer be a Lagos team. It must be a Nigerian team otherwise you will just continue like this.”

He said most of Tinubu’s appointees are only interested in making money adding that they are not interested in his political welfare.

Specifically, Onopkasa named the president’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila as one of the Lagos based appointees who are not interested in the president’s success.

“These guys have been parasiting you for decades.” he said

Onopkasa said that he as one of Tinubu’s supporters, voted for him because of his performance as the Governor of Lagos.
