Vice President Kashim Shettima has lauded President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, describing them as life-saving measures for Nigeria. Speaking at the Second Chronicle Roundtable in Abuja, Shettima emphasized the necessity of the reforms.
“President Tinubu has chosen to save the nation’s life rather than prolong its impending economic demise,” he stated.
Shettima expressed confidence that the reforms would soon bear fruit. “Nigeria’s economy will experience substantial growth once we weather these sacrifices,” he said. “Positive changes will become evident in inflation, per capita income, GDP, poverty reduction, food security, and other areas vital to our citizens.”
Acknowledging the subsidy removal, Shettima said, “We understand the previous administration’s decision. We do not blame them; leadership requires courage and continuity.”
“The subsidy was a bitter pill to swallow, but it was essential. The government is a continuum, and President Tinubu is navigating the country through a storm,” he added. CONTINUE READING
