VAR Intervenes To Spare Victor Boniface From Red Card As Bayer Leverkusen Maintain Unbeaten Streak

Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen breathed a sigh of relief after VAR intervened to overturn a red card issued during a heated clash with Borussia Dortmund.

Despite conceding an early goal, Leverkusen refused to wilt, with Boniface playing a key role in their comeback. However, a scuffle with Dortmund’s defense resulted in a straight red card for the Super Eagles striker.

To Boniface’s fortune, the referee consulted VAR, and the red card was subsequently rescinded. This fortunate escape spared him from a suspension of at least two matches, which would have been a significant setback for Leverkusen.
