David Umahi, Minister of Works, has accused Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, of inciting Igbo people against the Bola Tinubu-led government.
Umahi’s comments came in response to Obi’s criticism of the federal government’s plan to construct a highway from Lagos to Cross Rivers State. Obi had argued that the funds could be better used to rehabilitate existing roads.
Umahi claimed that Obi had failed to advocate for the people despite leading them into difficulties. He said Obi was inciting the Igbo against the government and then abandoning them.
“He gets them into trouble, and he doesn’t go to fight for them,” Umahi said. “Wisdom is a defense, and I want our people to have wisdom because I am involved.”
Umahi’s remarks were reported in Vanguard newspaper. CONTINUE READING
