Two Die In Early Morning Auto Crash

Two drivers: one of a commercial petrol tanker with registration number AAA877XR and a driver of a commercial Toyota Diana marked AGL627XC were involved in a fatal road traffic crash at Obenetiti Awkuzu by Onitsha-Nteje-Awka Expressway in the early hours of Tuesday June 11 leaving two persons dead.

According to road accident report by the Federal Road Safety Commission, the probable cause of the fatal crash was break  failure.

According to a report by  Margaret B Onabe, acting Sector Public Education Officer for Sector Commander eyewitness said the Mack tanker the brake of the Mack tanker driver failed and crashed into the Diana truck.

Three male adults and four female adults were involved in the crash and two female adults were killed, while two female adults and three male adults were injured.

One female adult was rescued unhurt.

The FRSC rescue team from RS5.33 Nteje rushed the victims to Chira Hospital, Akwuzu where two female adults were confirmed dead and their corpses were deposited at the mortuary. 

The team is still on ground ensuring obstruction caused by the crash is cleared.

The Sector Commander Anambra state, Mr.Adeoye Irelewuyi has sympathized with the family of the dead victims and wished the injured victims quick recovery.

He also warned motorists to desist from disobeying traffic rules and regulations and ensure they service their vehicles regularly with the motto: ‘Drive to Save your Life and the lives of others on the road”#
