Tragedy As Man, Son And One Other Meets Their End While Trying To Retrieve Cell Phone From Pit Toilet

On Sunday, April 21, a 60-year-old man named Malam Danjuma, also known as “Black,” his 35-year-old son Ibrahim, and a 35-year-old man named Aminu Gaye, tragically died in a pit toilet while attempting to retrieve a cell phone.

According to Saminu Abdullahi, Kano State Fire Service Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. when the service received an emergency call from Tsanyawa Fire Station.

Danjuma reportedly fell into the pit toilet while trying to retrieve a cell phone. His son, Ibrahim, attempted to rescue his father but also got trapped. Subsequently, Gaye and another individual named Alasan entered the toilet to help but they too became trapped.

Abdullahi stated that the first three victims were pulled out of the toilet unconscious, while the fourth victim was rescued alive. All victims were transported to the Tsanyawa police division and then to Bichi Special Hospital for medical attention. Doctors at the hospital confirmed the deaths of Danjuma, Ibrahim, and Gaye, while Alasan remains alive. CONTINUE READING
