Tinubu Govt Sets Up Panel To Probe Abuja British School Over Bullying

The Minister of State for Education, Yusuf Sununu, has announced the formation of a seven-member committee to investigate the bullying incident at Lead British International School, Abuja.

The committee will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and submit its findings to the Ministry of Education for appropriate action.

Sununu emphasized that bullying can result in severe consequences, including:

* Termination of appointment
* Expulsion
* Prosecution

The committee members are experienced education technocrats with expertise in uncovering negligence in educational institutions.

Last week, two viral videos emerged showing a female student bullying another female student. The incident sparked widespread condemnation and calls for an investigation.

In response to the incident, the Federal Government, through the Federal Capital Territory Administration, closed the school. The school management was also summoned by the federal government for questioning.
