Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has removed 15 District Heads from office for alleged offenses including insubordination, land racketeering, aiding insecurity, and converting public property. The dismissals were announced in a statement issued by the Governor’s press secretary, Abubakar Bawa, on Tuesday.
**Dethroned District Heads:**
* Unguwar Lalle
* Yabo
* Wamakko
* Tulluwa
* Illela
* Dogon Daji
* Kebbe
* Alkammu
* Giyawa
**Additional Dethroned Heads:**
* Marafan Tangaza
* Sarkin Gabas Kalambaina
* Bunun Gongono
* Sarkin Kudun Yar Tsakkuwa
* Sarkin Tambuwal
* Sarkin Yamman Torankavwa
These appointments were reportedly made haphazardly by former Governor Aminu Tambuwal and met with resistance from their subjects.
**Further Investigations:**
The cases involving the District Heads of Isa, Kuchi, Kilgori, and Gagi have been referred for further investigation.
**Transfers and Reassignments:**
* Sarkin Yakin Binji, a senior counselor in the Sultanate Council, has been transferred to Bunkari.
* The District Head of Sabon Birni has been deployed to Gatawa.

Abdulkadir Mujeli, who was appointed as Magajin Garin Sokoto, has been directed to return to his previous position as Sarkin Rafin Gumbi district.
These actions were based on recommendations from the Committee on the Review of Appointments of Traditional Rulers, Renaming of Tertiary institutions, and the Dissolution of Governing Councils of State Parastatals. CONTINUE READING
