In response to the tragic killing of a second-year student, Dading Jordan, the management of Plateau University, Bokkos, has announced a 10-day suspension of academic activities.
The suspension, effective from Friday, April 19, was disclosed in a statement issued by Registrar Yakubu Ayuba. It follows a two-day mourning period declared by the university in honor of the slain student.
“The decision to close the university was made to allow for improved security conditions and reduce the risk to the university community,” Ayuba stated.
As a result, the ongoing first semester examinations have been suspended and will resume on Thursday, May 2.
To assist stranded students, buses have been provided to transport them from the university to Barkin Ladies. CONTINUE READING
