In a daring act of bravery, passengers on the Talata Mafara-Gusau highway in Zamfara State thwarted an abduction attempt by Fulani herdsmen bandits, killing one and seizing two AK-47 rifles.
According to PRNigeria, the incident occurred when bandits ambushed a family traveling to Kano for wedding preparations. The family, which included a bride-to-be, her parents, and two relatives, was targeted by the criminals.
Eyewitnesses reported that upon being stopped, the bandits forced the family out of their car and into the nearby forest. However, the passengers quickly rallied together and launched an attack on one of the bandits.
After a fierce struggle, the passengers managed to overpower the bandit, resulting in his death. The other bandit escaped, leaving behind his firearm.
The courageous group then retrieved both AK-47 rifles and emerged from the forest, handing the weapons over to the military at a nearby checkpoint.
Tragically, one of the passengers suffered a sudden heart attack due to the traumatic experience and later died in hospital.
The bravery of the passengers prevented a potential kidnapping and sent a message to the bandits that their reign of terror will not be tolerated. CONTINUE READING
