Kingsley Fanwo, Kogi State’s Commissioner for Information, has dismissed allegations that Governor Usman Ododo assisted his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in evading arrest by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives.
Fanwo clarified that Governor Ododo did not facilitate Bello’s departure from his Abuja residence, refuting the EFCC’s claims as false. He emphasized that Ododo fully respects the law and legal processes.
According to Fanwo, Bello is not evading arrest as he has obtained a court injunction protecting his rights. He condemned the EFCC’s allegations as groundless and part of a concerted campaign to spread misinformation.
Fanwo asserted that Bello’s whereabouts are known and protected by a state high court injunction. He questioned the EFCC’s confidence in knowing Bello’s location when he is legally protected. CONTINUE READING
