The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has launched a new project aimed at making cooking gas more accessible and affordable for Nigerians.
The company has unveiled its LPG Micro Filling Plant in Nasarawa State, which serves as the pilot location for a nationwide rollout.
According to Aisha Birma, Head of External Relations at NNPCL, the project will be implemented in 12 additional states. Nasarawa was chosen as the initial launch site due to its abundant natural resources and potential.
Jibunoh Sabastin, Manager of LPG Sales NNPC Retail Limited, explained that the Micro Filling Plants will be deployed in remote areas to promote the adoption of cooking gas over traditional methods that harm the environment.
“We aim to introduce this technology to areas with limited awareness of gas usage for cooking,” said Sabastin. “NNPC has ample gas supply to cater to even the most remote regions, ensuring that all Nigerians have access to affordable cooking gas.”
