Nigerians on social media are reacting as VP Kashim Shettima, today June 7 commissioned the Design and Construction of the Vice President’s Residence in Abuja.
The construction of the new residence for the vice president was initially approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in 2010 at a cost of N7 billion. However, the project, which was left unfinished by the previous administration has been renovated with a contract review costing N15 billion by the Tinubu-led administration.
Many Nigerians feel this is a misplaced priority considering that most citizens are currently grappling with economic hardship and a high cost of living.
