The Nigerian men’s 4x400m relay team has been disqualified from the final at the 2024 Paris Olympics due to a lane violation during the semi-final race.
The team, consisting of Emmanuel Ojeli, Ezekiel Nathaniel, Dubem Amene, and Chidi Okezie, initially qualified for the final by finishing second in their heat with a season’s best time of 2:59.81.
However, it was determined that one of the Nigerian runners stepped out of their lane, which led to the disqualification and the tripping of a South African runner. As a result, Nigeria’s place in the final has been given to South Africa.
