A Nigerian woman has criticized Salvation Ministries founder, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, for his recent statement that church members should give at least 20% of their salaries as offerings in addition to the 10% tithe.
The woman expressed her disapproval, stating that Pastor Ibiyeomie should be “conscientious” and refrain from making such demands, especially in light of the current economic hardships. She condemned the request as “thievery” and emphasized that people have other financial obligations besides supporting church expenses.
In a TikTok video, the woman also questioned the nature of churches, comparing them to businesses that engage in the practice of proselytizing. She drew parallels between churches and marketing firms, suggesting that both rely on persuasion and appeals to convince individuals to align with their respective organizations, regardless of their existing beliefs.
