David Adeleke, the renowned Afrobeats superstar, known as Davido, emphasized that his achievements in the entertainment industry stem not from his affluent background but from his principles.
During his appearance on the American podcast ‘Business Untitled,’ Davido highlighted that despite individuals from wealthier backgrounds attempting to establish themselves in entertainment, not all achieved his level of success.
“There are numerous billionaires in Nigeria, even wealthier than my father… And there are individuals [children of billionaires] who have pursued endeavors similar to mine: music, entertainment, business. However, my success is attributed to my principles,” he explained.
He further elaborated, “The main obstacle I faced when I entered the music scene was my father’s wealth. Yet, I was embraced for one reason alone: my talent. I firmly believe I wouldn’t have gained acceptance if I hadn’t excelled in my craft.”
