Lagos Govt Demolishes Shrine Built Near Main Road

The Lagos State Government has demolished a shrine built near a main road in the Iyana Ipaja area of the state.

The shrine, located at Moshalasi Bus Stop in Ile Epo, was demolished by officials of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), popularly known as Kai. According to the state’s Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who disclosed this on Thursday, this follows several notices served on the owners.

After several stop-work notices served and physical assault on the personnel of the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps earlier today removed the Shrine constructed close to a main road at Moshalasi Bus Stop, Ile Epo in Iyana Ipaja,” the commissioner said in a post on his socials.

Wahab warned residents to desist from constituting any form of environmental nuisance on the state parks and gardens, adding that such would attract prosecution of offenders

“The Lagos State government is again warning everyone to desist from constituting any form of environmental nuisance on the State parks and gardens as this will be met with prosecution,” he added.
