The Nigerian Military has announced that a panel investigating the December bombing in Tudun Birin, Kaduna State, has indicted two officers.
During a religious celebration, a Nigerian Army drone mistakenly attacked residents of Tudun Birin. Official casualty figures stand at 81, while Amnesty International estimates 127 deaths.
Major General Edward Buba, Director Defence Media Operations (DMO), revealed the indictments during a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday. “The investigation concluded that the incident should not have occurred,” he stated.
Buba refrained from disclosing the ranks of the implicated officers, emphasizing the need to avoid compromising the upcoming court-martial.
The officers face charges for their actions, and the court-martial proceedings will determine their culpability.
