Veronica Nnenna Anyim, who was accused of delivering a false testimony by Pastor Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, has broken her silence. She expressed her disappointment at being labeled a liar due to her lack of fluency in English, despite being a lawyer.
Anyim gained attention after sharing her story in church, detailing her challenges in obtaining a Law degree from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) over almost a decade. She proudly stated that she was the first university graduate in her family.
During her testimony, Pastor Enenche questioned her degree’s authenticity, claiming that there was no such thing as a “BSc in Law” and accused her of falsehood. He also suggested that her language skills were not typical of a Law graduate.
In response, Anyim released a statement confirming that she had earned a third-class degree from NOUN and provided her contact details from her graduation. She stated, “It’s disheartening that because I couldn’t speak English like lawyers, I was called a liar for mistakenly saying BSc instead of LLB. I actually graduated with a Third Class at NOUN.”
Anyim expressed her distress at being publicly humiliated by her spiritual leader. “I can’t imagine what I endured during the service,” she said. “How shattered I must have felt to be disgraced in such a manner.”
Pastor Enenche faced criticism after evidence emerged showing that Anyim had indeed obtained an LLB in Law from NOUN. Many called for him to apologize.
In a recent development, Pastor Enenche apologized to Anyim, clarifying that he had not intended to embarrass her.
