Aisha Yesufu, a prominent activist, has expressed outrage over the actions of Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo. According to reports, Ododo intervened to prevent the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from arresting his predecessor, Yahaya Bello.
The EFCC had raided Bello’s Abuja residence to apprehend him in connection with an ongoing fraud investigation. However, Ododo allegedly facilitated Bello’s escape, obstructing the anti-graft agency’s efforts.
Yesufu took to social media to voice her shock and dismay: “As I, Aisha Yesufu, were President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I cannot fathom a Governor coming to Abuja to obstruct the @officialEFCC from performing its constitutional duties.
