On Tuesday, April 23, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faced a torrent of defections, with numerous high-profile members submitting their resignations. The exodus was triggered by former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha, who cited the party’s decline as the country’s leading opposition as his reason for departure.
The majority of the resigning members hail from the southeastern region of Nigeria. A list of those who resigned on that day was shared on Wednesday, April 24, by party chieftain Abdul-Aziz Na’ibi Abubakar:
