Alile-Idele was accused of:
* Negligence in her role
* Pursuits of personal interests
* Allegedly diverting 15,000 out of 24,000 wrappers donated by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu
Chanting slogans and holding banners, the protesters appealed to the First Lady and National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje to remove Alile-Idele for undermining female party members.
Coordinator Rebecca Sheneni claimed that only 9,000 of the donated wrappers had been distributed, despite the APC chairman’s warning to distribute them judiciously.
Sheneni also accused Alile-Idele of prioritizing her NGO’s agenda over the party’s, and questioned her lack of political experience.
Efforts to reach Alile-Idele for comment were unsuccessful. However, Imo State Women Leader Patricia Okuebor-Benson defended her, claiming that all state leaders had received their allocated fabrics.
Other Reactions
* Lagos former lawmaker Jumoke Okoya-Thomas declined to comment, citing lack of knowledge of the situation.
