Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Edo State, has dismissed his opponents as “baby politicians” who rely on “fine English” rather than substance.
In a statement released Wednesday, Okpebholo outlined his plans to differentiate his administration from that of incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki. He promised increased federal government involvement in the state and pledged to engage with citizens directly during the campaign.
“My running mate, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, and I will speak directly with the people, addressing their concerns and ensuring everyone’s participation,” Okpebholo said. “We will not resort to deception or false promises.”
He emphasized the experience of his team, contrasting it with his rivals. “My running mate and I have proven our electoral success. Our opponents are inexperienced and believe that eloquence alone will secure victory. We will demonstrate their shortcomings on election day.”
Okpebholo dismissed attempts to intimidate or blackmail his campaign. “We will unveil our manifesto and campaign team soon, and we will aggressively pursue our goal,” he stated. “This is a marathon, and we will prevail with God’s help.” CONTINUE READING
