Edo State Commissioner for Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Diaspora Affairs, Mrs. Uyi Oduwa-Malaka, has lost her honorary chieftaincy title, the Uzoyare of Ozalla, bestowed upon her by King Nathaniel Igelugbo Omogbai, the Onotare of Ozalla Kingdom in Owan West Local Government.
The commissioner was accused of misconduct and disrespect towards the monarch. According to a statement released yesterday by the palace’s spokesman, Dr. Osumah Obaze, Oduwa-Malaka allegedly requested the king to meet her in her car when she arrived at the palace on April 12.
In response, the traditional ruler revoked the commissioner’s chieftaincy title as a deterrent to others who may intend to disrespect the throne. Additionally, another title, the Ozemevboya of Ozalla, held by lawyer George Ohioma, was also revoked.
