Reports emerged that Bayero would lead prayers at the Kano Central Mosque, sparking tensions between his supporters and those of the reinstated Emir, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II.
However, the Kano State Police Command swiftly quashed these rumors, clarifying that Bayero would not lead prayers at the central mosque.
Kano State Commissioner of Police Usaini Gumel confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria that Emir Sanusi II led Jummah prayers at the Central Mosque, adhering to tradition as the recognized Emir.
Gumel urged the public to dismiss false reports and emphasized that robust security measures were in place to ensure peaceful religious observances.
