A passenger plane carrying an estimated 62 individuals crashed in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Friday, according to CTV News.
The aircraft was traveling from Cascavel to Guarulhos when it reportedly crashed in the city of Vinhedo, as confirmed by the local firefighters corps. However, no further details were provided.
Footage aired by Brazil’s TV GloboNews depicted an extensive area engulfed in flames and smoke, believed to be the wreckage of the plane. Additional footage captured the aircraft spiraling downward vertically as it plummeted.
Infraero, Brazil’s airport authority, has yet to confirm the incident following a request for information from The Associated Press. No local airlines have reported any missing aircraft at this time.
