In response to allegations made by former Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, Edo Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate Asue Ighodalo has vehemently denied any involvement in Shaibu’s impeachment.
Shaibu had recently accused Ighodalo of orchestrating and financing his removal from office by the Edo State House of Assembly. However, Ighodalo has categorically dismissed these claims as “spurious” and “without merit.”
In a statement issued by his media office, Ighodalo asserted, “Mr. Asue Ighodalo has had no role or involvement whatsoever in the impeachment and removal of Mr. Shaibu.”
He emphasized that these allegations are an attempt to damage his reputation and detract from the real issues at hand.
“These false statements should be treated with skepticism,” Ighodalo stated.
He expressed his commitment to running a campaign centered on substantive discussions and free from distractions. CONTINUE READING
