On June 23, 2024, operatives from the Kabusa and Pigbakasa Apo divisions of the Nigerian Police Force, led by CSP Victor O. Godfrey, apprehended four individuals suspected of murdering and robbing retired Brigadier General Uwen Harold (Retd.).
The incident occurred at the deceased’s residence on Sanga Street, Sunshine Homes, Kabusa Junction, Lokogoma, FCT, Abuja.
The suspects are identified as:
* Ibrahim Rabiu (33), from Dala LGA, Kano, residing in Apo Roundabout
* Nafiu Jamil (33), from Tofa LGA, Kano, residing in Apo Pantekar
* Aliyu Abdullahi (47), from Shinkafi LGA, Zamfara, residing in Apo Roundabout
* Mohammed Nuhu (28), from Kumbotso LGA, Kano, residing in Apo Primary School
According to the police, the suspects have confessed to the crimes. They claim that during the robbery, they killed the General to prevent him from using his pistol in self-defense. The suspects also admitted to stealing laptops, phones, and other valuables from the deceased’s home.
As evidence, the police recovered the knife used in the stabbing and the deceased’s black GSM phone.
The police state that investigations are underway to retrieve the two pistols the suspects confessed to taking and to apprehend any remaining fleeing suspects.
