Fr. Aroh stated, “With heavy hearts, we inform the public of the abduction of our priest, Rev. Fr. Basil Gbuzuo. The incident occurred on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at approximately 8am along the Eke Nkpor-Obosi bypass.”
“Fr. Basil is a resident priest at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Ogidi. As of this moment, the kidnappers have not contacted anyone.”
Archbishop Valerian M. Okeke, Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha, has appealed to the faithful and the public to pray for Fr. Basil’s safe and swift release.
“We entrust our brother, Fr. Basil, to the fervent intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Priests, for his prompt liberation from his captors,” Archbishop Okeke said.
