The Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his announcement to construct 400 boreholes across Nigeria. This move, according to POMR, aligns with former Vice Presidential candidate Peter Obi’s call for wealthy individuals to contribute to providing clean water for underserved communities.
POMR, in a statement signed by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, commended the President for his “spirit of charity” and emphasized that it resonates with Obi’s commitment to addressing the needs of the underprivileged. However, the group urged that this charitable mindset should extend beyond personal initiatives to government projects.
POMR highlighted that despite the dire need for basic amenities such as clean water, education, and healthcare, government priorities currently focus on “bogus projects” like coastal highways, mansions, flyovers, and jet purchases.
The group emphasized that Tinubu’s “new spirit of charity” has the potential to alleviate poverty if it is expanded and diversified to address the pressing needs of the Nigerian population.
