Officials within the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation have denounced the actions of suspended minister Betta Edu for utilizing the ministry’s official letterhead while under suspension.

Despite being suspended in January over alleged corruption, Edu reportedly returned to her office and authored a condolence message to the victims of the Jos building collapse using the ministry’s letterhead. This has raised concerns about her possible reinstatement without confirmation of the anti-graft agency’s investigation.
