Cubana Chief Priest Must Lead Campaign Against Naira Abuse Online – Justice Kehinde Ogundare

Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos has settled the case involving Okechukwu Pascal a.k.a Cubana Chief Priest. Recall that the socialite faced three-count charges of Naira note abuse brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), but the case has finally been struck out.

According to an EFCC spokesperson, the N10,000,000 fine imposed on Cubana Chief Priest is way higher than what is usually required for such an offence, but that only showed the severity of his violation.

His words, “The N10,000,000 fine imposed on Cubana Chief Priest far exceeds the usual penalty for such offences, highlighting the severity of the violation.”

Justice Ogundare added, “The defendant shall bi-monthly post on his various social media handles a minimum of two video clips of his sensitization campaign against abuse of Naira and sundry offences. These measures are strict deterrents meant to prevent future desecration of the Naira.”
