Earlier, Osogbo experienced chaos due to concerns about the Ataoja’s whereabouts. Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) exchanged accusations about the monarch’s alleged arrest.

However, it was later revealed that Oba Oyetunji had been summoned to Abuja by security officials to respond to a petition filed by a king under his domain concerning funds.

Wasiu Bello, the palace’s Secretary, confirmed that Oba Oyetunji had traveled to Abuja in response to a petition filed against him.

Additionally, Justice Kunle Adeigbe (rtd), National President of the Osogbo Progressive Union (O.P.U), denied rumors that the Ataoja had been detained.

“It is not true that Oba Oyetunji is being held by the police in Abuja. In reality, the Ataoja was summoned to Abuja to refute charges made against him in a petition, similar to how anyone may be questioned by the police about any accusation,” Adeigbe clarified.

“The Ataoja is now on his way back to Osogbo (as of yesterday). I can assure you that the Ataoja is not being held in custody in Abuja, despite rumors to the contrary on social media.”
