Anambra Residents On The Run As Suspected Gunmen Attack Military Convoy, 21 Soldiers Feared Dead (PHOTOS)

On Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, residents were seen fleeing their homes after gunmen attacked a military convoy in the early morning hours. The attack occurred on a military convoy traveling from Onitsha to Enugu. READ THE FULL ARTICLE

Over 21 soldiers were reportedly killed, with their bodies scattered around the scene. The attackers are believed to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its military wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Details of the attack is still sketchy, but an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said , a surprise attack was launched on the military convoy thereby causing maximum casualties.

Meanwhile, residents of the area could be seen scampering for safety while shop owners where locking up their shops for the day, amid fear of military reprisal attack.

Our correspondence learnt that , an emergency ambulance has arrived to assist the wounded soldiers while the dead soldiers where taken to the Federal medical center ,Awka (FMC-A) morgue .
