In a defiant statement, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has accused the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government of plotting to arrest Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate.
Charly Boy warned that any attempt to detain or charge Obi would be met with fierce resistance, unprecedented in Nigeria’s history. He urged the government to exercise caution to prevent igniting unrest through an unjust arrest.
Taking to social media, Charly Boy wrote: “Reports indicate an attempt to arrest Peter Obi by the Tinubu government due to his unwavering criticism and demand for good governance and accountability.
“Any arrest or charges against Obi will be met with unprecedented resistance. The Obidients are prepared for this. The Tinubu government must proceed with prudence to avoid setting the nation ablaze with an unlawful arrest of HE Peter Obi.
“We demand that the Tinubu government abandon its sinister plans against Peter Obi. The repercussions for Nigeria will be dire.” CONTINUE READING
