Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen found the net for Napoli in an enthralling 2-2 stalemate against Roma at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
Napoli hosted Roma in a pivotal Serie A encounter, with Osimhen spearheading the Partenopeans’ attack alongside Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Matteo Politano.
Despite Napoli’s dominance in the first half, with 17 goal attempts, neither side managed to break the deadlock.
The second half witnessed an explosion of action. Paulo Dybala put Roma ahead in the 59th minute, but Mathias Olivera leveled the score six minutes later.
Napoli’s relentless pressure paid off in the 81st minute when Kvaratskhelia was fouled in the penalty area. Osimhen coolly converted the spot-kick, giving Napoli the lead.
However, joy turned to despair for Napoli as Tammy Abraham equalized in the 89th minute, securing a 2-2 draw for Roma.
