Assistant Controller of Corrections Abducted in Niger State

On April 17, 2024, gunmen kidnapped Abdulrahman Ibrahim Gelele, Assistant Controller of Corrections at the Niger State Correctional Centre. The incident occurred along the Ilorin-Minna road.

According to THISDAY, the abduction has been kept under wraps, with the hope that Gelele would be released soon. The kidnappers have made only one contact with his family and have since ceased communication.

Niger State Controller of Corrections Mohammed Hamisu Isa confirmed the abduction in a statement issued by CSC Rabiu Mohammed Shuaibu, CPRO.

“On behalf of the officers and men of the command, we implore you for your prayers for his safe release and freedom from captivity,” the statement stated. CONTINUE READING
