The Kano State High Court, presided over by Justice Usman Mallam Na’Abba, has reversed its earlier order suspending Dr. Umar Abdullahi Ganduje as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Haladu Gwanjo and Laminu Sani Barguma, claiming to be the Chairman and Secretary of the APC Ganduje Ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government, had obtained an order suspending Ganduje.
However, in a turn of events, Justice Na’Abba vacated the order after reviewing a Motion Ex-Parte supported by a 27-paragraph affidavit and a written address dated April 22, 2024, submitted by Glory Adah, a litigation secretary in the 4th respondent’s law firm.
“After hearing Mr. L. O. Oyewo Esq, with A. Falana Esq and J. Essiet Esq, counsels for the 4th Respondent/Applicant, an order of interim injunction is hereby granted,” the judge stated.
The interim injunction stays the execution of the earlier order that directed parties to maintain the status quo ante as of April 15, 2024, regarding Ganduje’s suspension.
The case has been adjourned to April 30, 2024, for further hearing.
