Despite recent charges of naira abuse, social media influencer Pascal Okechukwu, known as Cubana Chief Priest, was observed transferring cash to a hype man at a wedding ceremony in Abuja on Saturday.
In an Instagram story posted by Davido’s logistics manager, Israel Afeare, Cubana Chief Priest, adorned in white attire, was seen dispensing funds to the hype man during a dance performance. The video, captioned “strictly on transfer,” also showed the socialite verifying the receipt of the transaction.
As of 8:30 p.m., Cubana Chief Priest remained at the event, according to attendees who spoke to Peoples Gazette. The wedding took place at JD Leisure Park between Maureen and Samuel Adekunle.
Cubana Chief Priest’s decision to transfer cash rather than spray naira notes comes following his arraignment last week by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on three counts of naira abuse. He was subsequently released on bail of N10 million.
The court adjourned the case until May 2 for a hearing on a preliminary objection, effectively pausing the legal proceedings surrounding Cubana Chief Priest’s alleged offenses. CONTINUE READING
