Yinka Olowojobi, a lecturer at Babcock University in Iperu, Ogun State, has been fatally shot at a relaxation spot in the town. The incident was confirmed by the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Omolola Odutola.

According to Odutola, gunmen invaded Ajadeh Event Centre on Sagamu Road in Iperu on April 19, 2024, and opened fire indiscriminately. Olowojobi was among three individuals shot during the attack.

Olowojobi reportedly resisted the gunmen’s attempts to abduct him, resulting in a gunshot wound to his chest. A car stand manager identified as Dare and an unidentified individual were also abducted by the armed assailants.

“A suspicious coincidence led to the arrest of one Awada Ishaya, a Plateau State native who was hired as a security guard at the event center two weeks prior to the incident,” Odutola said.
