Constance, a heartbroken lady from South Africa, has revealed how her boyfriend scammed her out of N100 million just a month before their wedding.
Constance and her boyfriend, who resided in Rwanda, had been in a relationship for several years and planned to marry. They had previously invested in joint ventures, with Constance entrusting her boyfriend with significant sums of money to purchase properties for their future.
However, as time went on, Constance became suspicious as her boyfriend failed to provide proof of the investments. His evasive answers raised her concerns, which intensified as their wedding date approached.
Just a month prior to the ceremony, Constance’s boyfriend began acting strangely and eventually disappeared. Speaking to Afrimax, Constance shared her devastating experience, expressing her initial trust and belief in her boyfriend’s promises.
“I sent him a substantial amount of money, and he pretended to be investing it in properties as we had discussed. But when the time came for me to return home, I was eager for our wedding,” Constance said.
“I was puzzled when he refused to show me any progress or what he had done with the money. Trusting him implicitly, I didn’t worry much at the time. However, a month before our wedding, he started acting oddly.”
“He texted me on Facebook claiming he was imprisoned, but I investigated and found out it was a hoax. He was never arrested. It made no sense. I informed our families about his disappearance, but it’s still unclear what happened.”
“After about two months, he texted me again, saying he was in Ivory Coast. I couldn’t believe what was happening and simply replied, ‘Okay.'”
“It’s been incredibly difficult to cope, but I will never give up. I’m working hard to become self-sufficient. I had known him for a long time before we fell in love, and in our culture, I believed marrying someone I knew would be ideal. But that dream was shattered. He used to show me pictures of properties and luxury items to deceive me into sending him more money, but that won’t stop me from continuing to work hard and achieving my goals.” CONTINUE READING
