Vice President Kashim Shettima has reassured Nigerians that the value of the Naira will continue to rise against the US Dollar in foreign exchange markets.
Addressing a delegation from the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) led by President Gabriel Idahosa, Shettima explained that they were aware of the Naira’s fluctuations and had the leadership to address the situation.
He praised President Bola Tinubu’s decision to eliminate fuel subsidies and unify multiple exchange rates, which he said had created overnight billionaires.
“We knew we had the leadership to reverse the trend. Asiwaju [Tinubu] knows the game, and the Naira is indeed gaining strength,” Shettima stated.
The Vice President attributed Lagos’s development to Tinubu’s vision and expressed the government’s commitment to job creation for Nigerian youth.
“President Tinubu’s goal is to elevate Nigeria and leave a legacy of excellence. He believes that Nigeria holds the key to the future of Africa,” Shettima said.
He assured the LCCI that they had an ally and friend in the government and that Tinubu understood their business ecosystem. CONTINUE READING
