Former US President’s Criminal Trial Commences on Monday

Jury selection in the historic criminal trial of Donald Trump concluded swiftly under Judge Juan Merchan’s guidance. By Friday afternoon, a jury pool of 18 was finalized, consisting of 12 jurors and 6 alternates who will determine Trump’s fate in the New York hush money case.

Initial estimates suggested that the process could extend into the following week. However, Judge Merchan’s efficient screening of potential jurors and the availability of impartial candidates enabled the completion of deliberations within the allotted time frame.

Trump’s attorneys continued their efforts to delay the trial on Friday. Despite their objections, Judge Merchan maintained the Monday start date. “The trial is starting on Monday, sooner than many anticipated.
