Tragic Bus-Truck Collision Kills Ten in Imo State

On Friday morning, a horrific collision between a fully loaded bus and an empty sand tipper truck occurred at Orogwe market bus stop in Imo State, resulting in the reported deaths of at least ten individuals.

An eyewitness revealed that the bus, owned by the Lords Chosen Ministry, was transporting church members from Lagos to Owerri for a scheduled program. Traveling at high speed, the bus attempted to avoid a tipper truck emerging from a bend, but it unfortunately struck passengers waiting at the bus stop.

In an attempt to evade the tipper, the bus collided with its rear, forcing it into a roadside culvert. The tipper’s driver and conductor were reportedly killed instantly, while the bus crushed several passengers waiting for transportation. The bus driver, however, is said to have survived the incident.

“We saw the bus carrying Chosen members from Lagos. The tipper came out of the corner, and before we knew it, we heard a loud sound and saw the bus crashing into the shops,” stated an eyewitness. “At least eight people were pulled out from under the bus. The driver was still alive.”

A survivor of the accident expressed shock and grief. “There were many of us in the vehicle. I don’t know if it was full, but our luggage was inside. We were on our way to the church program when the accident happened.”

Another eyewitness who owns a shop near the crash site attributed his survival to divine intervention. “I was struggling with flies in my house early in the morning and was delayed in opening my shop. Had I been there earlier, I might have been caught in the accident.”

Concerned residents noted that a similar tragedy had occurred at the same location four years prior.

The General Overseer of the Lords Chosen Ministry, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, was scheduled to lead a crusade in Owerri on Saturday, but the status of the event is now uncertain due to the accident.
