Popular disc jockey Obianuju Catherine Udeh, known as DJ Switch, was apprehended by authorities in Lagos and is scheduled to appear in the Eti Osa Magistrate Court.
As per a police source, DJ Switch filed a complaint on Monday, April 15, regarding a suspected case of fraud. Subsequently, the accused was apprehended and held in police custody.
On Wednesday, April 17, DJ Switch was summoned to determine whether she desired to pursue charges against the suspect or release him on bail, as legal regulations prohibit detaining an accused for over 48 hours.
According to the source, DJ Switch expressed her sole interest in receiving an apology from the accused, with the intention of recording and posting it online. However, the accused declined.
As the matter reached an impasse, the police decided to proceed with a court hearing. While officers attempted to transport the suspect, DJ Switch allegedly obstructed the station’s entrance with her vehicle and assaulted female officers involved in the case.
Subsequently, DJ Switch was apprehended for obstructing police activity, resisting arrest, and assaulting police officers. The accused was also charged and remanded to prison.
DJ Switch is currently being transported to the Eti-Osa Magistrate Court for arraignment on charges of obstructing police officers during duty, resisting arrest, and assaulting police officers.
