Omari Hutchinson, the promising winger on loan from Chelsea, has expressed his desire to extend his stay at Ipswich Town beyond the summer transfer window.
Hutchinson has played a pivotal role in Ipswich’s return to the Premier League for the first time in 20 years. With 10 goals and six assists in 44 Championship appearances, he has been a key contributor to their success.
However, Hutchinson’s future remains uncertain, as he is set to return to Chelsea at the end of the season. The Blues have not yet made a decision on his immediate future.
Despite being under contract at Stamford Bridge for only another year, Hutchinson has attracted interest from several clubs keen on securing his services.
Speaking to Sky Sports News after Ipswich’s promotion, Hutchinson revealed his preference to remain at Portman Road: “I hope to stay at Ipswich Town also next season. We’ll see what my agent and the manager say… I am speechless. It’s the best loan I could have ever imagined!”
Hutchinson’s impressive performances in the Championship suggest he is ready for the Premier League challenge. While he may not be immediately ready to compete for a starting spot at Chelsea next season, a couple of campaigns in the top flight could significantly enhance his development.
Chelsea face a crucial decision at the end of the season. Hutchinson’s desire to stay at Ipswich could prompt the Blues to extend his loan or even consider selling him to interested clubs. Such a move would allow Hutchinson to continue his growth and Chelsea to potentially generate transfer funds.
